A food bank is a charity that provides food to people who have difficulty buying enough. All food banks operate in slightly different ways. For instance some will provide a home delivery service for people living in rural areas and those who are unable to get to a food bank. To qualify for help at a food bank families and individuals must be referred by an organisation (or profession) such as Care Navigators, Gateways, Probation Services, Sure Start, Social Services, Housing Association, Citizens Advice Bureau, Age UK, Churches, Schools, Doctors and Nurses. If you need food contact any of the above organisations or professions.
