Private Rehab

Private rehabilitation facilities are independent treatment centres designed to provide a conducive environment for recovery, as well as effective, individualised treatment plans for people who want to kick their addiction. These rehabs mostly run intensive inpatient programmes that are streamlined to the needs of each individual patient. You’ll get 24/7 care from start to finish.

The major benefit of rehab is the intensity of treatment, which is comprehensive and tailored to fit each patient. Treatment includes a thorough assessment to determine your specific treatment needs; detoxification to remove all harmful toxins from your system; psychotherapy to treat all psychological problems, and aftercare to help you maintain abstinence after rehab.

If your case of addiction is severe, and you’re afflicted with painful and discomforting withdrawal symptoms whenever you attempt to quit, it’s advised that you go through a private treatment facility for a personalised detox programme and holistic rehab, because these facilities are your best chance of getting a full recovery.

What Does Rehab Cost in Merseyside?

The cost of private rehab is generally said to fall within £1,250-£2,500 weekly. While this is usually the case, it can change as a result of certain factors associated with the type of rehab you go through, the place where the rehab is located, the duration of your treatment plan, as well as the kinds of programmes you undergo. You can get a more comprehensive idea of rehab costs in Merseyside once you place a call through to one of our counsellors.

NHS Addiction Treatment

NHS treatment programmes and other public addiction treatment services are available in Merseyside, and you can get access to these services for free if you reside in the county and are ready to overcome your addiction. You can consult your GP, who can refer you to a suitable service. However, please note that waiting lists are up to 1 year in length and are only for the most severe cases of alcoholism and drug addiction

The Pros And Cons Of NHS Treatment

Going through treatment with an NHS or public programme will allow you to go through recovery free of charge and, in the case you get referred to a residential programme, your funds will be taken care of. Other benefits of going through NHS treatment include the closeness of your treatment service to your home and the confidentiality involved in these treatment plans.

However, going through these services comes with a number of disadvantages, including the lengthy process of admission; the fact that you’re not assured a residential programme despite your situation, and the problem of going through treatment in several centres. There’s also the issue of limited meetings with psychologists.

Addiction Support Groups

Addiction support groups are communities that consist of recovering drug and alcohol addicts who are battling similar issues as you. You’ll find these communities helpful in maintaining your sobriety over the long course of recovery, as experiences shared by group members during meetings can increase your drive to remain clean.

Types Of Counselling

One-to-One This is the most commonly known type of therapy. It involves a counselling session between therapist and patient in the same room. It may be held in an office, coffee shop, garden or any place where the patient feels most comfortable. Face-to-face therapy includes techniques such as motivational interviewing, simple yet effective QnA or unloading where the client releases whats been on there mind causing anxiety, fear, sadness etc… before the therapist interprets this and helps the client to uncover the root issue.

Online This includes all counselling services provided through the internet. It includes sessions via emails, Skype, and support group chat rooms such as SMART Recovery online support groups. It is easy, convenient, and promotes anonymity.

Group Involves a number of people struggling with similar issues coming together to discuss these issues openly, and in the presence of a certified counsellor. Through this process, each participant gains a deeper insight into their addiction, while providing support to others in the group at the same time.

How Can I Get To Merseyside?

By Road

From the north e.g. Blackpool you can reach Merseyside in approx 1 hour via the M55 and then join the M6 all the way down towards Birchwood, where you will join the M62 which takes you direct to Merseyside. Preston, another major northern city is well serviced to make the trip down south to the Liverpool area. You can take either the A59 or A6 to join the M6 and head towards Birchwood and turn off and join the M6 direct to Merseyside.

From the east coming from Manchester there is a straightforward route starting via the M602 and heading west until you reach the M62 for approx 55mins in total start to finish. If you are leaving from Stockport the quickest route is via the M56 passing Manchester Airport, taking a right onto the M6 heading north where you will naturally join the M62 which you will follow all the way to Broadgreen before you enter the A5080 which will take you to Wavertree before reaching your destination (Merseyside)

From the south e.g. Chester you can make your way via the A56 towards Hoole Village where at Hoole Island you take the first exit onto the M53 where you will pass Chester Zoo, Ellesmere Port among other landmarks until you pass opposite Birkenhead, upon where you will pass Bidston Golf Club not long before the M53 feeds into the A59 which takes you direct to Merseyside.

From the west there is one major town to note and that is Birkenhead. The quickest and easiest route is via the Queensway Tunnel and Birkenhead Tunnel, down Hunter St, onto New Islington, down Low St and Wavertree Rd before you reach Merseyside

The M62 motorway connects Liverpool with Hull while providing access to other cities and towns such as Leeds, Huddersfield, and Manchester. There’s an interchange with the M6 that runs north to south of Liverpool and connects farther locations such as Staffordshire, Birmingham, the Scottish border, and the Lake District.

By Rail

The local urban rail network, which has underground stations in the centres of Birkenhead and Liverpool, provides connections to the whole of Merseyside and beyond and is operated by Merseyrail. Connections to other major towns and cities are also provided through the national mainline network, which has train services in Liverpool and other districts in the region.
